Commodities Buzz: US Zinc Production Up 4% In First Four Months Of 2024

According to USGC, US domestic mine production (recoverable) of zinc in April 2024 was 53,800 metric tons (t). Mine production (recoverable) for the year through April was 243,000 t, 4% more than that in the same period in 2023. Average daily (recoverable) mine production in April was 1,790 t, 21% less than that in the previous month but essentially unchanged compared with that in April 2023. The monthly average North American premium to the LME cash price in April 2024 was 18.5 cents per pound, slightly more than that in the previous month but 46% less compared with that in April 2023.
