Copper consolidates around two week high

COMEX Copper futures consolidated around two week top today following a sharp spike in last session. The metal jumped more than 1% in last session and currently quotes at $4.19 per pound, almost unchanged on the day. Meanwhile, equities were mostly steady today. In Asia, China's Shanghai Composite index eased 0.48%, adding to recent losses. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 0.75%. Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell 0.68% after hefty gains in last session. European stocks edged up with German DAX soaring 0.52%. The US stocks stayed largely supported. The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 added to strong gains posted in Wednesday's session, closing higher for the fourth straight day.
