MCX Silver futures break above Rs 99000 per kg mark amid wild surge

MCX Silver futures are approaching towards Rs 100000 per kg mark as a wild rally continues in the global Silver market. The COMEX Silver futures are breaking above multi year highs and currently quote at $34.64 per ounce, up 1.61% on the day. The counter is up 10% this month following an 8% rally in September 2024. Meanwhile, MCX futures are following this movement very closely and currently trade at Rs 99140 per kg, up 1.74% on the day. The counter jumped 2.1% on the day in last session though the volumes showed a massive decline of 24%.

Meanwhile, in equities today, China’s Shanghai Composite index rose 0.54%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index ended flat. Japanese Nikkei index lost 1.39% as investors await general elections. European markets added to recent losses with French CAC index losing 0.77%.US stocks eased from record highs. Rising Treasury yields and the looming earnings season contributed to the S&P 500's 0.18% decline. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.8%, while the NASDAQ Composite gained 0.27%.
