Precious Metals Preview: COMEX gold hits yet another record high; surpasses $3400 mark comfortably
22-Apr-2025 09:16

COMEX gold is seen adding further sharp gains and hitting a fresh lifetime high amid further decline in dollar overseas and surging demand for the safe haven metal amid rising economic uncertainty. The ongoing global trade tensions and Trump criticisms on Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell last week are eroding investor confidence and benefitting gains in the yellow metal. COMEX gold surged and is sitting at around $3495 per ounce. Gold is up around 8% this month. So far this year, gold has gained more than 30%. The broad focus has now shifted on the release of International Monetary Fund's Global Economic Outlook for this year. Moreover, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during an event in the US that India is 'actively engaging' with the new administration in the United States of America and hopes to conclude the first tranche of the bilateral trade agreement 'positively' by fall this year.
