Energy Preview: US Crude oil inventories up 2.5 million barrels

The US crude oil inventories rose by about 2.5 million barrels for the week ended May 16, compared with a build of 4.3M barrels for the previous week, API data noted, according to media reports.
Gasoline stockpiles dropped by about 3.2M barrels, while distillate inventories -- the class of fuels that includes diesel and heating oil also fell by 1.4M barrels.
