Agri Buzz: Summer crops sowing nearly complete

Reserve Bank of India or RBI stated in a latest monthly update that summer crops sowing, especially in pulses, is nearly complete. As of May 16, 2025, the sowing of paddy (accounting for around 43 per cent of total summer acreage) was at 107.6 per cent of full season normal area, while that of green gram or moong (accounting for around 27 per cent of total season's acreage) was at 108.2 per cent. The cumulative summer acreage stood at 80.7 lakh hectare which is 11.9 per cent higher over the corresponding week's acreage during the previous year.
