Economic Buzz: UK house prices lose momentum in June

UK house prices were flat in June 2025, with the Halifax House Price Index showing 2.5% year-on-year growth ' the slowest pace in 11 months. The average property price dipped slightly to '296,665 from '296,782 in May. While prices stalled, market sentiment is improving, with rising mortgage approvals and increased buyer activity following recent stamp duty changes, suggesting underlying demand is still firming up.
