Economic Buzz: Eurozone's trade surplus at EUR 16.2 billion in May

The Eurozone's trade surplus stood at '16.2 billion in May, rising from April's '11.1 billion and '12.7 billion registered in the same month in 2024, the European Commission's statistical office Eurostat revealed in its report published on Wednesday.
Exports saw an annual increase of 0.9% to reach '242.6 billion. Meanwhile, imports declined by 0.6% to '226.5 billion.
The European Union's trade surplus came in at '13.1 billion, growing from '8.9 billion seen in May 2024. Exports advanced by 0.1% year-on-year to '216.9 billion, while imports decreased by 2.0% to '203.8 billion.
