Economic Buzz: Australia wage growth steady at 3.4% in June quarter

Australia wages growth remained stable in the June quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday.

The wage price index grew 3.4 percent on a yearly basis, the same rate of increase as seen in the March quarter.

On a quarter basis, the wage price index rose 0.8 percent in the June quarter, slightly slower than the 0.9 percent rise in the prior period.

Quarterly private sector wages rose 0.8 percent in June, while public sector wages climbed 1.0 percent.
