Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative long positions ease

Precious metals speculators cut their net long position in the Gold futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 229485 contracts in the data reported through August 12, 2025, recording a slide of 7565 contracts from the previous week. The net longs are down from two-week high and follow a sharp spike in last week 13454 contracts in last week.
