Hot Commodities: Silver near record high, up around 10% this month

MCX Silver futures are soaring amid a massive rise in global Silver prices. The COMEX Silver futures broke above $52 per ounce mark to hit a fresh high of $52.50 per ounce in last session. Prices fell thereafter in volatile moves but the metal is well supported at $51.49 per ounce right now, up 1.70% on the day. The counter is up 10% this month so far following nearly 15% upswing in last month. MCX Silver futures are trading at Rs 161589 per kg, up 1.31% on the day after hitting 162500 per kg. The counter had soared 3% in last session with a 38.60% spike in volume and 13% jump in open interest. The open interest is steady today despite the rise in prices.
