Commodities Buzz: Silver net speculative long positions slide to around 6-month low

Precious metals speculators continued to trim their net long positions in the Silver futures markets further last week, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Silver futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 43181 contracts in the data reported through October 14, 2025. This was a weekly decline of 3036 net contracts and took net longs to around six-month low.
