Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative long positions spike from five-month low

Precious metals speculators increased their net long position in the Gold futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 204664 contracts in the data reported through October 28, 2025, recording a jump of 28055 contracts from the previous week. The net longs had slipped to five-month low before this bounce back.
