Commodities Buzz: Silver net speculative longs tumble to two year low

Precious metals speculators added to their net long positions in the Silver futures markets last week, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Silver futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 21175 contracts in the data reported through January 20, 2026. This was a weekly slide of 10885 net contracts and pulled net longs to around two year low.
