The US natural gas futures plummeted the most in a single day in three decades on Monday, after forecasts for mid-February shifted warmer. The March Henry Hub contract tanked 25.7%, closing at $3.23 per mmbtu. Markets are expecting less demand for heating. Natural gas had surged to multi-year highs in late January amid cold snaps and supply disruptions in the US. The latest slide is now giving way to some stable moves as the counter trades up marginally at $3.26 per pound right now.
