Commodities Buzz: Silver net speculative long positions edge higher

Precious metals speculators added to their net long positions in the Silver futures markets last week, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Silver futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 25877 contracts in the data reported through February 2, 2026. This was a weekly rise of 2174 net contracts and pulled up longs from around two year low.
