Economic Buzz: US nonfarm payrolls up 115000 in Apr-26, unemployment rate steady at 4%

A closely watched report released by the Labor Department on Friday showed that US non-farm payroll employment rose by 115,000 jobs in April after surging by an upwardly revised 185,000 jobs in previous month. The US unemployment rate held steady at 4.3% though. Average hourly earnings, another closely watched metric of labor market health, edged up 0.2% for the month and 3.6% on an annual basis.
