Economic Buzz: German ZEWC economic sentiment up in May

The German economic sentiment recovered somewhat in May, according to a report by the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) published on Tuesday. The related indicator stood at a negative 10.2, up by 5 points compared to April.

Meanwhile, the current situation index for Germany fell by 4.1 points to a negative 77.8. The economic sentiment for the euro area jumped by 11.3 points to a negative 9.1, while the current situation indicator gained 1.6 points, reaching a negative 41.4.
