Economic Buzz: German trade surplus rises to '19.1B in May
The country's calendar and seasonally adjusted exports stood at '137.9 billion, increasing 0.9% on a monthly level and 6.1% year over year. Imports stood at '118.8 billion, down 2.5% month on month but up 6.9% on an annual level.
Exports to the European Union fell by 1.1% in May compared to April, coming in at '78.3 billion, while imports declined 2.5% to '59.5 billion. Exports to the non-EU countries jumped 3.6% month on month to '59.6 billion, while imports decreased 2.6% to '59.4 billion.
