Economic Buzz: ADP weekly data shows a slowdown in US private hiring

US private employers added an average of 16500 jobs per week in the four weeks ending July 4, 2026, according to the ADP Research Institute, recording a drop from 19800 in previous week. This also marked a fourth consecutive slowdown in hiring.
