Economic Buzz: German ifo business climate improves in July

Germany's Business Climate Index came in at 86.6 in July, up 0.9 points from the previous month, a report from the Munich-based Institute for Economic Research (Ifo) showed on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Current Assessment Index edged down 0.5 points on a monthly basis, landing at 86.5. The Expectations Index increased from 84.3, registered in June, to 86.7 in July.

Despite the uncertain situation in the Persian Gulf, the German economy is showing less pessimism, the Ifo commented.
