Agri Buzz: Soybean acreage down around 3%

Total area under kharif crops has slipped by 4.7% on year as on July 24 at 787.37 lakh hectares, according to agriculture ministry data. Oilseeds acreage is down around 2% at 163.54 lh. Acreage under major oilseed Soybean is at 113.65 lh, down around 3% on the year. Groundnut area is at 40.2 lh, down 1.40%. Sesamum seed acreage is up 8% at 8 lh.
