Market Speak: Gold ETF inflows lose momentum as Q2 sees heavy selling- WGC

Global gold ETFs reversed course in Q2 as heavy selling in June led to net outflows of 45 tonnes, trimming first-half inflows to just 18 tonnes. According to the Gold Demand Trends report released today by the World Gold Council, North America accounted for the bulk of the selling amid a stronger US dollar, rising real yields and hawkish Federal Reserve expectations, while Europe was the only region to record positive Q2 inflows. Despite record June outflows, Asia remained the strongest performer in H1 with net inflows of 70 tonnes, supported by resilient demand from regional investors.
