Gold lower, Silver down 0.20%

MCX Gold futures are trading on a weak note today. The benchmark Sep-26 contract is down 1.06% at Rs 154292 per 10 grams. The intraday range was Rs 153550-155490 per 10 grams.The counter has contracted 3.09% over last one-week.The open interest in the counter slumped by 21.03% to 13899 lots. The metal edged lower by 1.44% in last session.


Silver is marginally lower by 0.20% at Rs 237700 per kg. The open interest in the counter tumbled by 62.20% to 2210 lots.


In global equities, US markets are set for a negative start. DOW futures have posted modest losses of 0.37%. In Europe, FTSE 100 inched higher 0.29% and CAC 40 edged up 0.04%.
