Copper down 3.36%, MCX Zinc slides sharply

MCX Copper futures are are under heavy selling pressure, moving lower by 3.36% at Rs 1377 per kg right now. The counter was down 0.40% in the day session till 6.00 PM. MCX Copper futures slumped to an intraday low of Rs 1431 per kg today and have registered a sharp 8.45% reduction in the open interest. US equities are edging lower with S&P 500 is inching down 0.49% on the day.MCX Copper is lower for third consecutive session.


In other metals, Zinc is sharply lower by 3.03% at Rs 416 per kg, Aluminium is lower by 1.40% at Rs 351 per kg, Nickel is modestly lower by 0.47% at Rs 1604 per kg while Lead is slightly lower by 0.13% at Rs 197 per kg.


Copper has added around 3.91% in the last one week followed by MCX Zinc, slightly higher by 3.75%.
